Set sail from Ushuaia over the edge of the world into the untouched wilderness of the Weddell Sea on the ultimate polar expedition with Quark Adventures. Day 1 - 2 - Buenos Aires

Depart the UK for Buenos Aires, on arrival you will be transferred to your hotel for a 1 night stay.

Day 3 - Ushuaia

Transfer this morning by private charter flight to Ushuaia. On arrival there is time to explore this quaint city, the southernmost in the world before a late afternoon embarkation. Set sail along the historic Beagle Channel as you prepare for departure, your next sighting of land will be Antarctica.

Day 4 & 5 - Crossing the Drake Passage

The legendary Drake Passage, where the Pacific, Atlantic and Southern oceans meet offers an unforgettable adventure in its own right. As the expert crew and expedition team ensure your comfort, you’ll have time to soak in sweeping ocean views, capture seabirds in flight, and share stories with fellow travellers and your onboard guides.

Day 6 - Into the Weddell Sea

As you continue into the Weddell Sea, sit back and listen to the onboard experts who will share insights into the experiences of the brave polar explorers who sailed into the unknown more than a century ago. You’ll also learn more about the ice-dwelling Emperor penguins.

Day 7 - 11 - The Weddell Sea and Quest to Land at Snow Hill

Aboard Ultramarine, fly by helicopter over icebergs to Snow Hill Island for a rare visit to 8,000 Emperor penguins. Walk penguin-carved paths, hear their calls in the stillness, and between landings enjoy ice vistas, polar adventures, or spa relaxation.

Day 12 - 14 - The Journey Home

Crossing the legendary Drake Passage, breathe the crisp Southern Ocean air as albatross glide and whales surface. From the deck, enjoy wildlife sightings, engaging talks, and time to reflect on the rare privilege of exploring Antarctica’s pristine, untamed beauty.

Day 15 - Ushuaia and Buenos Aires

Arrive back into Ushuaia this morning, and join the private charter flight back to Buenos Aires. On arrival transfer to your hotel.

Day 16 - Departure

Transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
